So Michael Carlson came in yesterday, just saying that Chris Devlin had reached out to him about the whole situation with Chad.

00:00:11 - [SCOTT_WARNER]
Oh, boy. Okay.

00:00:14 - [LISA_LAW]
So I guess I was just I tried to be as discreet as I could, but Michael seemed to already know a a good deal.

00:00:23 - [SCOTT_WARNER]
So Michael is their CFO

00:00:26 - [LISA_LAW]
just Okay.

00:00:27 - [SCOTT_WARNER]
For record. So it it's not uncommon that he's pretty deep in the details. I Okay. I've never seen him get in on HR topics because it that kinda crosses a weird line for all of us. So

00:00:40 - [LISA_LAW]
Yeah.

00:00:40 - [SCOTT_WARNER]
But he is, like, legitimately their CFO, so I guess there is some understanding there, I suppose. So

00:00:49 - [LISA_LAW]
Okay. Well, that makes a little more context then. Because I in my mind, what I how I see Michael, he's he's more finance for, you know, TTS and and Fest, but that makes more contextual sense when you say that he is their CFO. He does he came in, closed the door, and he was like, hey. I've just and I was just like, this doesn't completely make sense, but he knew a lot. So I was just like, well.

00:01:16 - [SCOTT_WARNER]
So Amity basically was their CFO, and she just didn't have time for that startup energy that they needed there. And and Mike was brand new, and she was kinda trying to find ways to expand his horizons. So she asked him, like, would you like to be their CFO? And and I mean, he still reports to her, of course, but kinda looking at that shared service model, you know, kinda setting it there. So yeah. So he functions as their CFO. He signs all their documents and then reports to Amity as far I don't I don't know what they're I I assume just weekly kinda what's going on and things like that. But whenever I have a question about their finances, their structure, or whatever, I do go through Mike generally. So

00:01:54 - [LISA_LAW]
Okay. That's helpful information because I I didn't wanna share too much because it seemed a little odd, but, like, again, you giving me that insight

00:02:03 - [SCOTT_WARNER]
Yeah.

00:02:04 - [LISA_LAW]
Explains a whole lot. I just told him that, you know, you and Chris had spoken to me last week and were aware of the situation, and I'm just waiting for Chris to kind of determine what next steps look like here. And I just told him, I was like, you know, we've we've documented at least the performance concerns and expectations to Chad. And he was just like, well, I'm glad that you've at least and I was like, yeah. I mean, that's standard HR one zero one is, you know, if there is any kind of situations that you just have a documentation or a paper trail.

00:02:38 - [SCOTT_WARNER]
Exactly. So yeah. Yeah. He probably should have told you that himself just because I have to assume he would have known that you would have found that odd, but maybe not. I don't know. So

00:02:48 - [LISA_LAW]
Yeah.

00:02:50 - [SCOTT_WARNER]
Well but, no, I would I would say in general, like, Amity has turned that whole company over to him as far as as that stuff goes. I mean, she's I did kinda let her know just because of I I had to I was letting her know I was looking into the severance topic and things like that. So she kinda knows I'm looking into it, but she didn't have any other questions at all. So

00:03:11 - [LISA_LAW]
Okay. Well, that's totally fine. I mean, I'm I'm sure when Chris is ready, he will let me know kind of what those next steps look like. I just, again, I just found it odd, and I I just wasn't quite sure, but that makes so much more sense. And now it's reassuring because I was just like, I don't wanna say too much here because, like, I just don't know what the connection is, but now I do know, and it's it's totally fine.

00:03:38 - [SCOTT_WARNER]
I yeah. So yeah. I'm glad you asked, but, yeah, he he should be okay. So

00:03:42 - [LISA_LAW]
Okay. Awesome. Yeah. That's all I had. Thanks for, jumping on that call this morning with Paylocity too.

00:03:49 - [SCOTT_WARNER]
Well well, I thought. So I I I haven't done a comparison of the pricing yet. But is do you just because I couldn't remember off the top of my head, do you know where are they roughly the same? Or

00:04:01 - [LISA_LAW]
So what I recall so UKG's was 25 per employee per month. Paylocity looks like it was gonna be, like, 32. So Oh, I think

00:04:13 - [SCOTT_WARNER]
I thought they were a little higher. Yeah. Okay.

00:04:15 - [LISA_LAW]
Yeah. So there is definitely a little delta. Now, I couldn't remember what the implementation cost was going to be. So, I was just gonna wait till Josh sent over that proposal, and then I could look at that dashboard that Jess sent us and compare kind of the the overall implementation fee. You know, I think apples to apples comparison. I haven't seen the demo for UKG, so I just don't know what we're looking at, like, from the platform itself. But I from a functionality standpoint, it looks like that they're gonna be able to do exactly the same thing. I mean, it's all gonna be under one place. It it it's so I'm kinda just interested to see what tomorrow afternoon looks like when Jess comes in and does that demo.

00:05:03 - [SCOTT_WARNER]
Yeah. I'm looking forward to the demo just because I I think usability is a big thing, and I don't wanna just ignore it. So I'm curious to see is UKG as Velocity is and and because to me, we're not a company who chooses only on cost. We choose based on what the best choice is. So

00:05:23 - [LISA_LAW]
Yeah. I agree. So be

00:05:26 - [SCOTT_WARNER]
able to you, and we can go from there. And just let me know if I can do anything for you. Okay?

00:05:31 - [LISA_LAW]
Will do. Thank you.

00:05:32 - [SCOTT_WARNER]
Lisa, we'll see you.

00:05:33 - [LISA_LAW]
Bye.
