1. Meeting Summary
I spoke briefly with Vera to assess whether the planned April Germany trip still made sense if I am unable to attend. The core question was whether there is enough business value for Vera and potentially Sean to proceed without me, or whether it would be better to defer in-person discussions to June or another later window.
Vera was flexible and indicated she could still carry topics for the IT team and support Sean if an earlier trip is important, but she did not view April as essential for her own priorities. She said her topics could be handled remotely if needed. She also noted that if we wait until the June IMM timeframe, there likely will not be much working time available unless we extend the trip before or after the event.
I shared that Sean's concern is that Adaptex is becoming difficult enough that trying to manage both priorities in early April may be unrealistic. Late April was discussed as another possibility, but that would create additional travel strain given the likely SawStop trip to Portland the following week. I told Vera I need to talk with Amity and work through my broader summer calendar before making a decision.
2. Attendee List
- Scott Warner
- Vera Rodehutscord
3. Action Items
- [Scott Warner] Talk with Amity to align on whether the April Germany trip should proceed and whether I can realistically participate.
- [Scott Warner] Review summer travel and family scheduling constraints to determine what trips I can support.
- [Scott Warner] Reassess with Sean whether there is sufficient value for Vera and/or Sean to travel in April given current Adaptex demands.
- [Scott Warner and Vera Rodehutscord] Continue discussion later at 1:00 to go deeper on options and timing.
- [Vera Rodehutscord] Be prepared to carry relevant IT topics and support Sean in Germany if we decide the trip should proceed without me.
4. Relevant Timelines
- Early April - Original target window for the Germany trip; currently in question.
- Late April - Alternative timing discussed, though it may create travel congestion.
- June - IMM trip remains a possible window, but Vera noted there will likely be limited time for substantive meetings unless the trip is extended before or after.
- Week after late April trip - Possible Portland trip to SawStop, which would add to travel load.
- 1:00 today - Vera and I planned to revisit the discussion in more detail.
5. Additional Notes
- Vera is already planning personal travel to Germany around a wedding, either the week before or after, so there may be an opportunity to leverage that timing if in-person follow-up is needed.
- Vera was clear that she is flexible and willing to support whatever arrangement works best for the business.
- The biggest business constraint discussed was Adaptex. Sean's view is that it may be too disruptive right now to manage both Adaptex and international travel in early April.
- My own travel capacity is also constrained by family considerations, so I need to map out the full summer schedule before committing to multiple trips.
- No final decision was made on Germany travel during this call.
